Sunderland geared up for the curtain raiser of the Premier League against Tottenham Hotspur next week with an entertaining draw against Juventus last night.

Daryl Murphy gave Sunderland the lead in the seventh-minute after stabbing home from a corner but were cruelly denied victory when Cristian Molinaro grabbed the equaliser two minutes from time with a powerful strike into the roof of the net.
