The Blues go down up the other end and win a free-kick 25 yards out, left of centre. Didier Drogba steps up and slams it in-off David James’ left-hand post, beyond the 39-year-old’s flailing dive. The wall was a mess, and frankly James probably should have saved it.

Aston Villa Vs Chelsea Highlights

Sunday 11 April 2010 @ 3:14 am

Didier Drogba wins a corner after cutting into the box and after it is half-cleared by Richard Dunne, John Terry hammers it left-footed to the back post where Drogba diverts it past Brad Friedel and into the corner of the net.

The Villa fans start to flood out of Wembley after Michael Ballack’s deep cross from the right finds Florent Malouda at the far post, the impressive Frenchman coolly sweeping home to wrap up this unimpressive FA Cup semi-final.

Chelsea break with pace and after Florent Malouda runs down a blind alley he tees up Nicolas Anelka and he then in turn sets up Frank Lampard, who takes a touch and slots into the far corner. It’s brutally ruthless.

Darren Ambrose smacks in a swerving free-kick from 30 yards. Brad Freidel maybe slightly at fault again as he gets a hand to it but can’t keep it out. What a hit though.

Julian Speroni makes a mind-blowingly brillant save from John Carew’s header, somehow pushing it away for a corner. But Stiliyan Petrov meets Stewart Downing’s right-wing delivery at the near post with a glancing header which nestles in the far corner.

Bolton Vs Tottenham Highlights

Sunday 14 February 2010 @ 11:47 pm

That is a lovely goal. Slick passing in midfield, and Johan Elmander playing a quick one-two with Chung-Yong Lee before squaring for Kevin Davies, who takes a touch before lashing in a deserved opener for the hosts.

Nice move by Spurs, Luka Modric to Gareth Bale on the left and Jermain Defoe takes one touch before finishing off the outstretched leg of Sam Ricketts. Harry Redknapp jubilates.

Peter Crouch tries to hook the ball over Sam Ricketts, the Bolton defender lifting his arm to clear. Penalty. Jermain Defoe missed against Leeds in the last round, so it’s Tom Huddlestone to take - but it’s too close to Jussi Jaaskelainen and the Bolton keeper dives to his right to save.

St Mary’s erupts as Southampton get back on level terms straight away. Long ball into the box and top scorer Rickie Lambert manages to guide it home with the back of his head.

Sub Quincy Owusu-Abeyie involved again. He provides the through-ball, Chris Perry slips as he tries to clear, Arune Dindane lifts the ball over Kelvin Davis, who gets a hand to it, but can’t stop the ball trickling in - and neither can defender Dan Harding.

Saints caught out as they press for the equaliser. Jamie O’Hara plays a gorgeous half-volleyed pass from the edge of his own box to send Nadir Belhadj racing away down the left. The Algerian reaches the box, fakes to square the ball, and then slots past Kelvin Davis.

Harsh on Saints, but if anyone deserves a goal it’s Jamie O’Hara. Nadir Belhadj escapes down the left again. This time, he crosses for that man Quincy Owusu-Abeyie, who knocks the ball back for the on-loan Spurs midfielder to smash in the finish - despite Kelvin Davis getting a hand to it.

Chris Burke delivers the cross from the left and Michael Chopra easily escapes marker Alex to head in at the near post. Awful defending.

Cardiff’s defence falls asleep again. Didier Drogba plays provider with the ball forward, the Cardiff defender missing his kick and allowing Michael Ballack to canter through and finish with the outside of his left foot.

That should wrap it up for the holders. They make their second-half dominance tell as Daniel Sturridge gives them a two-goal advantage with a low shot through the keeper’s legs after Didier Drogba’s effort ricochets off the defence and into his path.

Paolo Ferreira swings over the cross and it’s just behind Salomon Kaloubut he manages to contort his body and send a lovely header past Kelvin Davis.

Mamady Sidibe storms down the right flank and sends over an inviting cross that is met by Ricardo Fuller, who beats Sol Campbell to the ball with ease and heads downwards past Lukasz Fabianski and into the net. The Potters are back in front and have 11 minutes left to hang on to their lead.

Tottenham Vs Leeds Highlights

Sunday 24 January 2010 @ 3:23 am

Jermaine Beckford was the hero for Leeds once again as his brace gave Leeds a replay against Tottenham in a dramatic 2-2 draw played out at White Hart Lane.

Not even Casper Ankergren can keep this one out, although he tried his best. Gareth Bale gets down the left to the bye-line and pulls the ball back for Niko Kranjcar, who is waiting on the edge of the area. Kranjcar’s low shot is saved by Ankergren’s foot but the ball is immediately turned into the net by Peter Crouch, who reacted instinctively to meet it.

Leigh Bromby gets a touch on the ball as a corner flashes across the face of goal and, when Tottenham cannot clear, Jermaine Beckford is in the right place to turn the ball over the line from close range. A predatory finish, and Leeds are level.

Credits to matchhighlight

A fantastic move from the home side ends with Roman Pavlyuchenko, who looks to be on his way out of the club, restoring their lead. After good work by Gareth Bale and Wilson Palacios down the left, Pavlyuchenko dummies the resulting cross then latches on to a neat pass from Jermain Defoe before slotting home.

Credits to matchhighlight

Seconds after turning down one Leeds penalty shout, Alan Wiley decides that Michael Dawson got too much of Jermaine Beckford as he slid in inside the area. Dawson got the ball, but also caught the man too. That man Jermaine Beckford steps up and shows nerves of steel as he smashes his penalty high into the top corner. A replay it is then.
