Manchester United Vs West Ham Highlights

Saturday 3 May 2008 @ 9:31 pm

Man United move three points clear over second place Chelsea with a easy 4-1 win over a poor West Ham side at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Number 39 of the season and defensive suicide from West Ham. Lucas Neill’s slip lets Cristiano Ronaldo cut in from the right, head towards goal and fire in a low shot that deflects slightly off George McCartney and flies into the net.

An absolute gift, it’s number 40 for the season and number 30 in the Premier League for the great Cristiano Ronaldo - but it’s probably the easiest he’s scored all season. Owen Hargreaves sends in a cross from the right and the West Ham defenders let it drop over their heads, the ball appearing to fly in off Ronaldo’s thigh. Game over.

Party time. Carlos Tevez cuts in from the left, skips past a couple of defenders and thunders in a rocket from 30 yards that swings about seven different ways in the air and flies past a flailing Robert Green. Even some West Ham fans are clapping. That was a touch of genius from the Argentine.

One of the goals of the season from United target Dean Ashton, who scores a quite brilliant overhead kick into the top corner from 12 yards after Wes Brown fails to clear a cross into the United box. Phenomenal effort.

For a second there, it looked as though West Ham only had 10 men. Michael Carrick is allowed to carry the ball about 30 yards without being tackled and his 25-yard shot deflects heavily off Lucas Neill and wrong-foots Robert Green. Shambolic defending from the Hammers.

Derby Vs Arsenal Highlights

Tuesday 29 April 2008 @ 11:27 am

Arsenal demolished Derby 6-2 at Pride Park with Emmanuel Adebayor bagging a hat-trick as the Gunners close the gap on leaders Man Utd to 4 points.

Derby hit the self destruct as Moore carelessly gives the ball away to Bendtner, who then exchanges passes with Van Persie before firing a low shot past Carroll.

Excellent free-kick from the left by Savage is lifted over Fabianski by the number four from three yards and the Rams deserve to be on level terms.

Third-time lucky for the Dutchman when he is found beautifully six yards out by Toure as Derby’s defenders stand and watch. He takes the ball on his chest and smashes it home past Carroll.

Walcott makes a fool of Stubbs as he heads for the byline in the Derby area - he pulls the ball back, Eboue deflects it on as he falls over and Adebayor guides it into the open net.

Robert Earnshaw manages to stay just onside and slides a nice finish beyond Fabianski following a lovely defence-splitting pass from Todd.

Derby’s celebrations are short lived as the Theo Walcott finds the corner with a measured shot from inside the Derby area.

Simple stuff again for Arsenal as Derby’s defence goes AWOL - Clichy bursts on to a through ball down the left, centres for Adebayor to slide home into the corner.

Adebayor completes a second-half hat-trick as he rounds Carroll and slides the ball nonchantly into the open goal.
