Roma clinched the Coppa Italia for the first time since 1991 despite going down 2-1 to Inter Milan in the second leg of the final.
The Giallorossi outfit were already in the asendancy following the trashing they gave Inter Milan in the first leg which they won 6-2, therefore claiming a 7-4 win on aggregate.
Argentinian hit man Hernan Crespo and Julio Cruz got the goals for Inter to give their side a glimmer of hope before Simone Perrotta killed off the tie with an instinctive strike following Totti’s wayward shot.

AS Roma scored four goals in the first 30 minutes to trounce holders Inter Milan 6-2 in an absorbing encounter at the Olympic Stadium in the first leg of the Italian Cup final on Wednesday.
Christian Panucci got a double and was followed by Francesco Totti, Daniele De Rossi, Simone Perrotta and Amantino Mancini all scoring one each to give Roma a commanding lead ahead of the return leg on May 17. Hernan Crespo netted both of Inter’s goals that sees their bid for a third succesive Cup win on the balance after yesterday’s horror show.
