Well done Dirk Kuyt, you have to say. It’s a blatant penalty as Sebastien Bassong - who I’m getting the feeling wasn’t really prepared tonight - lunges in at David Ngog and brings him down. Kuyt steps up and slams the first penalty in, but there’s encroaching so he has to take it again. The Dutchman steps up for a second time and with Heurelho Gomes baiting him, he sticks it into the other corner. Rafa Benitez must be over the moon.
