Four-times CONCACAF Gold Cup winners Mexico were made to work hard as they came back from being a goal down to defeat Cuba 2-1 in their opening Group C match yesterday.
Cuba took shock lead through striker Reynier Alcantara in the 22nd minute before ex-Bolton man and legendary Mexico targetman Jared Borgetti restored parity in the 38th minute. Castillo however was on hand to stroke home the rebound for the winner after inspired substitute Jose Francisco Fonseca shot was too hot to handle for Cuba keeper Molina in the 46th minute.
