West Ham look set to seal their first summer signing of the season with Newcastle and England midfielder Scott Parker joining them in a £7million pound move.
West Ham chief executive Scott Duxbury had been involved in late-night talks with Parker’s representatives on Wednesday after Tottenham had made their interest known for the Newcastle skipper.
Scotty Parker is seen as a direct replacement for want-away skipper Nigel Reo-Coker, who last week handed in a transfer request. A move to Upton Park would fit Parker perfectly as he would be then reunited with Alan Curbishley, his old manager at Charlton.
