Chelsea snap up their first signing of the summer when Reading midfielder Steve Sidwell agreed to join the club on a free transfer from the 1st of July.
Chelsea posted on their website www.chelseafc.com that the soon to be ex-Reading man had passed a medical but stop short of revealing details about the length of the contract.
The 24-year-old midfielder has been a revelation for Reading this season after appearing in 35 games and scoring 4 goals for The Royals in their Wigan-like debut season in the Premiership.
