Chelsea Trio Issued Ultimatum On Contract Extension

British tabloid The Sun has reported in Friday’s edition that the Chelski trio of Frank Lampard, John Terry and Arjen Robben have been offered ‘take it or leave it’ deals by owner Roman Abramovich which sees them earning less then the flops of the season Andrei Shevchenko and Michael Ballack.

Chelsea skipper John Terry and midfield dynamo Frank Lampard had been offered deals worth £115,000 a week, but both stalwards have rejected the offer, and are demanding at least the same contract as Shevchenko and Ballack are on to leave the likes of AC Milan and Barcelona on red alert on the duo’s future at the club.

Dutch winger Arjen Robben was the latest player to see his contract negotiations stalled having been offered a new four-year agreement worth £84,000 a week in which he has yet to sign. Robben, who has been attracting interest from German side Bayern Munich and Barcelona could easily take advantage of the new loophole in Fifa’s transfer regulations which permits players to terminate their contract after a “protected period”.
