Michael Owen cancelled out James McFadden’s opener with a poacher’s finish to the Magpies a 1-1 draw at St Andrews.

The best player on the pitch scores a well-deserved goal. Ridgewell swings in a cross from the left and McFadden out-muscles Faye and turns to toe the ball past Steve Harper from 10 yards.

Michael Owen scrambles one in from four yards after a great save from Maik Taylor from an Obafemi Martins shot. Birmingham failed to clear, and the two pocket-sized forwards were lively. A deserved equaliser in my opinion.
